Laser vision correction is a very precise, custom reshaping of the cornea this treatment corrects long and short-sightedness and astigmatism, so giving better vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses. Mr Alex Day is highly experienced in all methods of (LASIK, PRK, LASEK, transPRK and SMILE). He has also undergone laser vision correction himself and so understands what it feels like to be a patient.

Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) is a fast and safe surgical option for those with high prescriptions or where laser vision correction is not possible due to issues such as dry eye or thin corneas. It is a strightforward surgical procedure with most patients back at work within 48 hours.

Refractive lens exchange (RLE) is an advanced surgical procedure to reduce your reliance on glasses. This is typically the procedure of choice for those in their late 50s and 60s.

There are a number of replacement lens types available (including extended depth of focus, EDOF and multifocal intraocular lens) and Mr Alex Day will advise you of the best options for your visual requirements.

Cataract surgery is the only treatment for cataract and is a very safe surgery with excellent outcomes. Mr Alex Day offers both standard (by hand) cataract surgery as well as laser cataract surgery.

Cataracts tend to develop slowly over time, so deciding when to treat them is always something of a personal matter, something that Mr Alex Day will take into account during your consultation. He has two decades of experience performing cataract surgeries and is a cataract surgery trainer at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Up to one in ten people undergo YAG laser capsulotomy for posterior capsule opacification after cataract or refractive lens exchange (RLE) surgery. This is a simple outpatient treatment taking only a few minutes and is performed with local anaesthetic eye drops.

Following YAG laser capsulotomy by Mr Alex Day, your vision will be improved almost immediately.

Also known as CXL or C3R, corneal collagen crosslinking treatment is available from Mr Alex Day to help strengthen the cornea, the transparent front surface of the eye.

This treatment method has been developed over the past 15 years and is a highly effective method for managing keratoconus and other corneal ectasias.
